Good King Henry

Goose grass *

A common woodland/ hedgerow weed, which has been used as a feed for geese and chickens hence its name. It is often said to reveal those who have been courting as the sticky plant sticks to most clothing and the tiny seed balls can be hard to remove from woollens. It is also edible for humans and once cooked in a stew it can provide a plentiful if bland source of food with a taste reminiscent of spinach.
